Great rooms offer stunning views and an open feel. But all that open space isn’t the best environment for sound, and it can produce a lot of echoes. When homeowners Larry and Linda came to us looking for help with their acoustical issues, they needed a solution that was both functional and aesthetically pleasing.
Our Solution
To properly absorb all that sound and dampen the echo, the team knew they’d need something rather large. The challenge was to find a solution that made a statement without overpowering the room. The team settled on a series of geometric shapes built out of various types of exotic and domestic wood species. Each box is a different shape and height, with angles that helped break up the sound. In addition, they’re packed with sound absorbing foam, which is painted the same color as the wall. The result is a unique piece of art that is as functional as it is beautiful.
