Job Overview
We’re seeking an experienced and motivated Commercial Door Technician/Installer to join our growing team. In this role you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of a variety of commercial doors and door hardware systems. The ideal candidate will have good mechanical aptitude, with strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills plus a commitment to delivering high-quality service and craftsmanship to our clients. Must be willing to travel to client locations across the US and have experience working in a fast-paced commercial construction industry.
Responsibilities
- Install and service commercial doors and hardware
- Replace parts such as hinges, closers, locks, frames, and glass panels
- Read blueprints, job specs, and diagrams to ensure proper installation
- Apply mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot and resolve door-related issues.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with mechanical and electronic components
- Ensure safety protocols are followed on all job sites
- Communicate effectively with clients, team members and management
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of work performed
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade school training is a plus
- 5+ years of experience in commercial door installation and service preferred
- Willingness and ability to travel and stay overnight as needed
- Skilled with tools, power equipment and safety procedures
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Ability to lift and carry 50+ lbs.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Preferred experience with Pemko continuous hinges, Securitech/Schlage/Dormakaba
- locksets, Dormakaba closers, and SDC keypads.
