Finish Carpenter

Prusak’s Precision Construction, a highly respected fabrication and installation firm, is seeking an experienced Finish Carpenter to install cabinetry, millwork, and other fixtures on projects for some of the largest names in the commercial retail space.    

The Finish Carpenter serves as an installation expert by following industry best practices and applying precision craftsmanship for each of our client’s projects. This position reports directly to the Operations Manager and will work with a team of 4-8 carpenters, perform commercial finish carpentry according to client specifications, and help support and develop junior team members skills.

The ideal candidate for this role has an incredible attention to detail, is able to troubleshoot issues and solve problems on the fly, enjoys traveling to client locations across the US, and has experience working in the fast-paced commercial construction industry.

Pay: $20-$28 an hour

Full-time pay based on level of experience.

Typically working 38-40 weeks per year

72-84 hours per week

Responsibilities

  • Measure, cut, and install finish carpentry work, fixtures with a high degree of accuracy for a variety of commercial and retail projects
  • Assist the Master Carpenter on site with a variety of tasks from interpreting plans to completing complex builds
  • Help manage and supervise junior team members as needed
  • Ensure crews are following all rules and health/safety regulations on the jobsite
  • Safekeeping of tools, equipment, and materials

Requirements 

  • 3-5 years of relevant finish carpentry experience with completion of apprenticeship or equivalent training program
  • Must have experience with scribing
  • Able to read blueprints and use common tools and power tools
  • Available for travel and willing to work overtime as needed
  • Able to work and stand for up to 10 to 12 hours per day, climb ladders, and safely lift 75 lbs
  • Have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Remain drug-free. Drug screening is standard for all potential hires and ongoing screening may be conducted throughout employment
  • High school diploma or GED certificate. Additional continued education (trade schools, certificates, related degree) is a plus
  • OSHA 10 or 30 certificate is a plus
